One of the brightest spots in my day is when one of our volunteers walks through the door smiling and excited to be here and serve. As a staff member, I find it so encouraging to have consistent people to catch up with. Not only is it a blessing that they are here to interact with the clients, but also because they are my sisters in Christ. I find myself serving alongside friends, not just volunteers. I am immensely grateful for them and so thankful that the Church is not limited to four walls, but is anywhere that we are. I’ve gained perspective from this.
I’m thankful to have had the privilege of seeing the Church as a whole in the last few years; the crowds of believers falling on their knees in India, Africans dancing with their tambourines, the secret meetings in the Middle East, and the faithful long prayers of Asians all glorifying God. The Church is everywhere that Christ followers are…we are the Church and when we gather he says that he’s among us. I love it that we can all be from different walks of life and still have so much in common, no matter where we’re from! Yep, I’ve gained perspective.
